Shine On partners with Regis to make their homes more sustainable

Dramatically reducing their electricity costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

Shine On has partnered with Regis, one of Australia’s largest aged care providers to supply and install over 15,000 LED lights across 22 of their sites in Victoria, NSW and South Australia. The upgrade will see Regis reduce CO2 emissions by over 2,400 tonnes within the first year alone.

Shine On had previously upgraded five Regis sites and won the 22 sites as part of a competitive tender process. Shine On was selected due to their extensive experience in upgrading live-in accommodation, and their market-leading products achieving the biggest energy savings. The installation commenced at end of March and will take approximately 4 months.

James Johnson, Shine On’s Managing Director said, “We are delighted to be working with Regis on this multi-site LED lighting upgrade. Along with the obvious benefit of energy savings, this program will see improved lighting throughout the homes with a number of bespoke fittings developed by Shine On to ensure the result for residents is attractive, quality lighting. Our lights are so efficient; the program will pay itself back in under two years”.

Dr Kaushik Sridhar, Regis’ National Sustainability Manager said, “The lighting upgrade will not only produce better energy performance but also improve the aesthetics of the facility through improved lighting as well as future proofing our homes against rising energy costs and regulations”.

The LED project is part of Regis’ wider sustainability initiative, with a number of solar installations running concurrently and these 22 homes are the first phase of a two year planned rollout.
